Meet the CooksHi there! We are the Cook Family. Bringing you the very best in fresh, locally grown produce is our family’s passion! All those smiling faces to your left are simple to explain – Tim, Christy, Zach, Ethan, Tyler, Nate and Allie all love what we do!
Growing up on the family farm in Circleville, Ohio, Tim developed an early love for farming and the land. From a very young age, it became his goal in life to be a career farmer like his father, and grandfather before him. Christy also grew up in Circleville, and went on to earn her Degree in Education from Asbury College. She began her career as a High School teacher in 1998, and taught for five years across two local school districts. |
When Tim and Christy found out that Zach was on the way, they made the decision that Christy would take on the world’s most rewarding job, and be a stay at home mom. It was a good thing too! Over the next seven years the Cook family would be blessed with four more children.
In 1999 Tim rented his first farm and began making those dreams into reality. Reality though turned out to be just as harsh for Tim as it was for many small farmers in America. Vegetable crops required a massive effort to grow and harvest, and there simply was not a viable produce market locally.
In 2004, however, things started to change. Tim was given the idea to start a CSA in the south central Ohio region. Within a few short weeks New Century was born. There have been many changes made over the years that has helped New Century stay on the cutting edge. Since their beginning New Century has grown into being a trusted producer and supplier of fresh produce to members all over central Ohio.
